In this role, you'll:
Play a part in delivering the high profile Rail Timetabling Solution (RTS) Program considered a Sydney Trains Tier 1 priority. This program will implement a modern, state-of-the art rail timetabling system and optimise related production processes to deliver significant improvements in rail timetable production capabilities for Sydney Trains.
Provide analysis, advice and support in the translation of business requirements to technical specifications to ensure the correct solution design and implementation.
Engage with business and IT stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle including walk-though sessions, conducting workshops and documentation of requirements.
Fixed Term, Full time opportunity to June 2026 | Hybrid Work – WFH mixed with 2-3 days/week attendance either at Burwood Home Office or flexibility to travel across various Transport for NSW and Sydney Trains locations across the Sydney Metropolitan area as required.

About You
You’re looking for a new challenge and meaningful work! As an accomplished Senior IT Business Analyst, you bring expertise in:
- 5 years+ in IT business analysis, working in project /program teams to deliver large IT transformational projects.
- Preparing and/or contributing to business cases, use cases, user stories, functional & non-functional requirements, requirements traceability matrix, IT Support processes, running workshops with project groups for requirement gathering, reporting requirements, compiling clear requirements, documenting business and system processes.
- Good understanding of relational data, performing data analysis and mapping.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills, with ability to build relationships with business and IT stakeholder groups and vendors.
- Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid software development methodologies.
- Working with a highly industrialised workforce (well regarded).
- Working in the rail domain and working with frontline and operational staff (well regarded)
- Tertiary studies and/or certifications relevant to the discipline (well regarded)
