The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining ongoing management of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District’s (SESLHD) BI visualisation, reporting, dashboards and technical solutions to enable delivery of the BI roadmap, and analytic framework.
This role requires a self-driven, creative critical thinker who can work with data warehouse platforms, cross-functional teams and a range of stakeholders whilst providing expertise in creating innovative analytics and BI visualisation solutions that meet business and clinical needs.
The role is also responsible for maintaining the existing BI reporting platforms and ensuring these applications run efficiently and effectively. Please note that the role has a District remit and as such may be located at any location across the District.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

- Relevant IT/ tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in complete information system development life cycle including requirements gathering, design, evelopment, test, delivery and maintenance.
- Proven ability to develop complex and compelling Business Intelligence data visualisation, reports and dashboards using various platforms, including Qlikview, Qliksense, Microsoft reporting suite or similar tools. Additional experience in R and Python seen as an advantage.
- Demonstrated proficiency in advanced SQL programming including writing stored procedures and manipulating large, complex data sets. Experience in ETL technologies and Python seen as an advantage.
- Experience with large and complex Business Intelligence projects involving strong problem solving and strategic thinking skills and have included making complex judgements and taking initiative within the delegated area.
- Demonstrated ability working in agile or other software development environments to address organisational change requirements and continuous/rapid development of new and existing systems.
- Team-focused, adaptable individual who shares knowledge, builds the skills of others and can work productively in a busy office environment or remotely.
- Established excellent communication skills with experience in presenting, facilitating group training, translating business needs into technical solutions and producing informative technical and non-technical documentation.
- Current drivers licence.
