Cadell Food Service is a Victorian-owned Food Service Business that has been supplying the hospitality industry for over 30 years. Cadell has built a business based on trust, reliability, and professionalism. Over the past 30 years, our team has evolved from just a "minor" player in the industry to the largest independent food service distributor in Victoria. We have established ourselves as a key partner to suppliers and kitchens and built long-term relationships supplying a wide range of kitchen ingredients. During this growth, we have built a successful meat offering to our customers but are ready to further advance it with a dedicated Senior Buyer and Sales Meat Category. We are focused on being the most reliable and consistent.
Position Overview:
Operating with a lean, dynamic team, the business is looking for an individual with experience managing a customer centreplate offering and Sales channel. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in:
1. Building relationships with growers, processors, and brokers.
2. Building consistent supply.
3. Establishing a brand and product offering that meets our customers' needs.
4. Maintaining quality control and pricing competitiveness.
5. Supporting a team to grow sales.
6. Identifying new opportunities within existing customers and new accounts.
Main responsibilities :
• Take ownership of the product offering and quality control for our centre-plate fresh proteins.
• Take ownership of the business's pricing structures.
• Build our team's skills and experience and give them the tools to promote our meat sales.
• Establish relationships with key customers.
• Identify and engage with new business opportunities with the aim of onboarding new customers.
• Work closely with the Sales Manager, Procurement Manager, and CEO to ensure existing customers are serviced effectively and developing a new strategy for the business to realise the wealth of opportunities ahead of us.
What you will bring to the table:
• Previous experience (2 years minimum) working either buying or selling meat.
• The skills to establish and implement a new Category strategy and manage the implementation.
• Positive, collaborative, and professional working culture.
• High-level computer literacy.
• The ability to work autonomously and keep yourself motivated.
• A passion for food and the food industry with a desire to build a long-term career in the industry.
