About the Role

The Senior Category Manager leads and provides tactical guidance to the Third Party Service Providers (TPSP’s) category professionals on all aspects’ of end to end performance and compliance management, directs the strategic intent of the categories under management and identifies new categories for management through building relationships and working closely with executive stakeholders to optimise TPSP service delivery.

Duties

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Senior Category Manageryou will:

• Maintain a constant emphasis on the core vision of icare, that is make the complex simple so our schemes deliver better outcomes for people and communities.
• Lead and direct a multi-disciplinary team to deliver customer excellence in category and contract management services and to build innovative, collaborative relationships with key suppliers and suppliers.
• Model ethical, proactive and customer centric behaviours and champion a high performance mindset within the team.
• Develop, establish and manage robust category, relationship and contract management frameworks and methodologies to meet government policy and probity requirements.
• Lead major contract negotiations and initiatives to deliver innovation and value add improvements in the delivery of Third Party Supplier Provider service delivery.
• Oversee and guide the determination of the category parameters and where the category fits within the claims lifecycle by encouraging collaboration between the team and key senior stakeholders.
• Mentor and coach staff in professional development planning and support the team.
• Provide authoritative advice to senior key stakeholders on all aspects of the contract.
• Apply the NSW Government Procurement governance and risk management framework to monitor compliance, manage risk and improve category performance.

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated extensive experience in category, contract and relationship management in a large and complex service industry organisation.
• NSW Government legislative, probity and policy requirements
• Extensive experience managing large enterprises and stakeholders, large spend and complex business categories.
• Ability to confidently advise on issues and influence decisions to senior leadership
• Advanced people leader experience and capability to develop and manage a team ecosystem environment in a supportive and consistent manner.
• Proficient negotiation skills and the capacity to assess a situation or issue and develop robust recommendations critically and evenly.
• Expert at analytical and high-level strategic plan development.
