About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Category, this is a high-profile role within the business looking after the Retail channel.
You will be responsible for leading and shaping the Sorbent Company vision through strategic category planning, identification and implementation of category and channel strategies through insights and trends.
Most critically, you have a passion for delivering strong results, best in class collaboration internally and externally, and a desire to influence strategic direction.
What you will be doing
Execution of Category Strategy through Insights
- Generation of category insights that lead to the development of category growth drivers and opportunities.
- Support development of category strategy/plans and other growth drivers
- Lead for range reviews and customer meetings for assigned categories - Category Management, Strategy, Options & Recommendations, Planograms, and Implementation.
- Lead customer story development on new product launches/innovation, key initiatives, and priorities.
- Champion continuous improvements on customer planograms to ensure shoppability and rightful share of shelf for our categories.
- Execution of best practice category strategies and insights-based projects.
- Lead and participate in category related strategic projects.
Driving Process Improvements
- Lead insights for improvements and generate ideas to support internal decisions.
- Influence through insights to achieve commercial outcomes.
- Involvement in wider business process and projects
- Pricing – Monitor pricing strategy and competitor positioning.
- Create and maintain insightful reports that clearly articulate latest trends and information the team can use effectively.
What will make you successful:
- Bachelor degree in Business or Marketing
- 5+ years of experience in a Category Development Manager or a proven National Account Manager looking to broaden their experience.
- Previous experience in delivering Category Reviews in the Australian Grocery environment.
- Influencing skills to driving change
- The ability to partner effectively and work cross functionally.
- Strong analytical ability – the ability to derive actionable insights from data.
- Attention to detail (data integrity is key).
- Experienced in Quantium, Unify and IRI (scan and shopper data)
