About our Senior Civil Designer position:

Tonkin is now seeking candidates with suitable experience to join our Design and Drafting team and apply their skills in the design and detailing of all aspects of our infrastructure projects.

You will be joining a close-knit team that prides itself on professional, technical and collaborative excellence, while supporting Tonkin’s’ multidisciplinary approach that ensures our clients receive the best solutions. Joining our Design and Drafting Team. As an experienced Civil Designer, you will be an integral part of a team of highly skilled specialists who collectively perform the following:

• Support our Transport, Water, Local Government, Development and Waste Management teams for all infrastructure design solutions relating to: Roads and highways, transport structures, rail and aviation;Water and wastewater infrastructure projects; Landfill and waste management infrastructure; Local roads, stormwater design, municipal and urban development projects.
• Apply proficiency in modelling and drafting using AutoCAD, 12d and/or Civil 3D
• Work collaboratively with Engineers to design and draft for a wide range of infrastructure projects

About you

Together with your exemplary teamwork, stakeholder management, written and verbal communication skills; to be successful in this role you will ideally possess some or all of the following:

• Minimum 5 years experience utilising 12D and/or Civil3D and AutoCAD
• Minimum 5 years design experience in general civil design in one or more of the following areas; Water and Wastewater infrastructure, Road Reconstruction, Road Design, Public Realm Design, Land Division Design and Stormwater Design
• Experience in Water and Sewerage design, including pipelines & pump stations
• Working knowledge of Austroads and relevant Australian Standards
• Experience in design for State Government road authorites
• Experience in landfill design, bulk earthworks design or tailings design
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and a strong focus on the production of quality outputs

Job location

This role is based at Tonkin's state-of-the-art head office in Adelaide's CBD. We are also seeking Designers to join our other offices around Australia, including Brisbane and Sydney. Flexible/work-from-home arrangements may also be possible.
