Role description:
We have recently secured several major projects and we are looking to expand our cost management team, and this is a great opportunity for an individual to make a real mark and enhance our service delivery
We are seeking an Estimator / Senior Estimator to work on large scale transport infrastructure projects. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the preparation of detailed first principles estimates for heavy civil, road, rail, utilities, and aviation projects. Preferably the right candidate will have experience in providing probabilistic risk assessments to provide P50/P90 contingencies to all projects, and will support our wider cost management team in the delivery of cost planning, estimating and commercial-based services.
Role accountabilities:
- The preparation of first principles cost estimates and cost plans
- The preparation of bills of quantities and the management of teams to deliver bills of quantities.
- Assessment of variations, take-offs, and cost proposals.
- Leading technical reviews as may be required with designers and for estimates.
- Leading, participating and contributing to risk and value engineering workshops.
- Working closely with and communicating with the internal and external teams to address issues or concerns as these arise.
- Helping the Cost and Commercial Management team to establish and work within agreed parameters and procedures.
- Tertiary Education is preferred but not essential.
- Experience in the construction industry is preferred for this role and demonstration of having delivered similar roles previously
- Previous experience with Expert Estimation preferred, and/or CostX or other digital takeoff tool is desirable.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of the Australian Infrastructure sector.
- Adept in managing and delivering against challenging and competing timescales.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team to an aligned set of objectives
