The Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager Sustainable & Resilient Futures this exciting role is accountable for strategic climate, environmental and social resilience planning, alongside the identification of emerging risks and opportunities.
This will be achieved through:
- Support the development of Melbourne Water's sustainability framework to ensure enterprise-wide decision-making aligns with current global best practice.
- Support the development of social sustainability and resilience elements of Melbourne Water's sustainability framework and action plan.
- With the Principal, Climate Resilience lead and develop Melbourne Water's overarching Climate Resilience program and capability.
- Lead development of Climate Resilience aligned work which enhances adaptation and resilience in our region.
- Enable Melbourne Water to understand and meet its ESG obligations.
- Lead the delivery of complex projects with minimal supervision, identify problems and appropriate solutions.
- Experience and knowledge in ESG, TCFD and emerging frameworks including TNFD, TIFD
- Experience and knowledge in climate, resilience, adaptation and sustainability
- Extensive experience managing projects in challenging environments.
- Strategic thinking and demonstrated ability to develop a clear way forward on complex issues.
- Tertiary qualification in sustainability, climate change, systems thinking or related field.
- Knowledge of legislation and policy relevant to climate change mitigation and adaptation, and emissions reduction
- Demonstrated ability to influence change and drive organisation wide change.
- Sound understanding of strategies and policies and their application, with regard to climate.
- Ability to work across the business to lead change through both formal and informal governance structures.
