Tax Accountant

Collins House Advisory is a growing Chartered Accounting and Financial Planning firm based in the CBD on Collins Street. We have an opportunity for a Junior to Intermediate Accountant to join our team. We are looking for an individual who is eager to learn and grow in taxation and business advisory.
Ideally you have had experience in a similar role in a professional services firm, be highly motivated with demonstrable communication skills, a pro-active mindset and works well within a team.
Some of your duties will include, but not necessarily limited to:
- Annual Tax Compliance - Assist with accurate and timely preparation of tax returns for individuals, trusts, companies and SMSF and Financial Statements;
- Preparation of IAS/BAS, advice on GST and Income Tax compliance matters;
- Establish Entities, preparation of application, plus ABN,TFN,GST/PAYGW Registrations;
- Liaison with clients, bookkeepers, financial controllers, banks and government regulatory bodies
- Other adhoc duties as requested
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
- You will have at least 2-3 years experience in taxation & accounting practice
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce or Business
- CA or CPA qualified, or working towards qualifications
- Understand accounting technology, ability to use Xero/MYOB required
- Knowledge of the NowInfinity & XPM will be highly regarded
- Strong understanding of Australian taxation system & Business structures
- Be able to work independently and get things done
- Demonstrate confidence, professionalism, responsiveness, and strong client focus & ability to to identify client needs
