That's why, we're looking for ambitious people like yourself to join the team.About The RoleWorking within the Climate Resilience Solutions team within PEXA, you will collaborate closely with data engineers, scientists, GIS analysts, and product owners. Reporting to the Head of Climate Analytics, you will apply cutting-edge research to develop leading methods for natural peril and climate risk assessment, benefiting our core business, clients, and new prospects.Key Accountabilities
- Research climate change at global, regional, and local levels.
- Manage, clean, and interpret data sets, ensuring data integrity and adherence to ethical and security standards.
- Apply data science techniques such as predictive modeling and statistical inference.
- Enhance data science processes and best practices within the team to address business challenges effectively.
- Maintain natural catastrophe modeling capabilities in the region, focusing on projecting the impacts of climate change.
- Perform event response analytics following natural catastrophe events.
- Develop efficient approaches to solving analytical problems and communicate results and methodologies to various audiences.
- Identify available internal and external data sources, implementing new data collection processes.
- Collaborate with industry and subject matter experts to explore relevant sources of natural peril and climate risk information.
- Develop models and methodologies based on industry best practices for climate change scenario analysis and natural hazard modeling.
- stay abreast of legislation and the climate regulatory framework and disclosures
- Strong understanding of climate change and risk and resilience concepts.
- Strong industry experience, working with climate and geospatial data.
- Experience in natural catastrophe modelling or climate risk analytics.
- Familiarity with a broad range of sectors such as Financial Institutions and Property.
- Relevant qualifications in environmental engineering, statistics, climate science, earth sciences, or a related field.
- Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to investigate and interpret environmental and climate data.
- Proven track record of driving climate resilience and climate change adaptation outcomes in large, complex organisations.
