Central to the position is the coordination and performance of training sessions for operators involved in conducting Multiple Breath Washout (MBW) and oscillometry tests across various research studies. The incumbent will be tasked with ensuring the proficiency and adherence to quality standards among study operators, both locally and at external research sites. A structured certification program will be implemented, accompanied by meticulous grading of data to maintain research integrity.Moreover, the role extends beyond training and quality control to actively participating in pioneering research projects focused on advancing lung function techniques and biomarkers for conditions such as asthma, preschool wheeze, cystic fibrosis (CF), and environmental exposures. This includes collaborating with respiratory clinic staff, facilitating data and sample collection, processing data, and handling administrative duties. These groundbreaking endeavors will take place at the Queensland Children’s Hospital and the Child Health Research Centre.The Senior Clinical Research Assistant will closely collaborate with the Project Coordinator, supporting various aspects of the roles described above. Responsibilities include overseeing the progression of study operators through training programs, organizing virtual and face-to-face training sessions, reviewing and grading certification and study data, and continually refining processes for enhanced efficiency and accuracy. Additionally, the role involves participant recruitment, communication with participants and their families, liaising with clinical teams, data collection, database management, data cleaning, and assisting with ethics and reporting requirements.This is a full-time, fixed-term position for up to 5 years. At HEW level 5, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $77,396.47 - $86,029.78 plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $90,553.87 - $100,654.84 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.About YouBachelor’s degree in health science, biological sciences, physiology, nursing or related field.Experience working in a Clinical Research environment with biological samples, patient interaction, standard operating manual development.Experience in lung function testing in adults and/or children.A basic understanding of online databases and statistical packages and an ability to maintain accurate records and be confident navigating computer systems.Ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgement and work as an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team.Ability to adjust easily to changing needs and priorities to facilitate project completion.Demonstrate attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
