Senior Cloud Engineer ( SecOps / Python / AWS ) is required to join one of Australia’s leading brands, acting as the main point of contact for all things maintenance and implementation and to be the dedicated person to help with their AWS Cloud infrastructure. You’ll be in a senior hands-on role responsible for their AWS environment and will be implementing security guidelines on their infrastructure.

Key responsibilities for the Senior Cloud Engineer ( SecOps / Python / AWS ) include :
  

• Act as the bridge between SecOps and TechOps
• Management of S3 buckets, policies, securities, applying batches
• Implement security guidelines on cloud infrastructure
• Be the main POC for all maintenance and implementation
• Be hands on but also liaise with numerous stakeholders across engineering and devops
• Manage AWS resources
• Review and guide other team members in python development

  
  
Essential skills required for the Senior Cloud Engineer ( SecOps / Python / AWS ) include :
  

• Python (structuring python projects with CI (continuous integration) using package managers (preferably poetry and pyproject.toml but also pipenv. Requirements.txt or constraints.text.) Establish test runners (pytest or unittest) and understanding data structures and markup language YAML, JSON, hash maps/dictionaries
• Containerisation – knowledge in Docker and Docker Compose (multistage / dockerfiles), basis knowledge of networking
• Good Infrastructure as code – understanding of AWS Cloud formation, Terraform/Ansible and Continuous Deployment (CD)
• AWS S3 – configuring secure buckets, retention policies (Glacier, object expiry), object metadata and data access controls
• Intermediate Git skills, multi branching, rebase, merges and raising/reviewing Pull Requests. Ideally Github but also Bitbucket, Gitlab or Azure DevOps. 
• SonarQube - review of bugs, vulnerabilities and security hotspots.
• Vulnerability management and python project updating, experience working with GRC(Governance, Risk and Compliance).

  
  
Desirable skills for the Senior Cloud Engineer ( SecOps / Python / AWS ) include :
  

• Knowledge of Apache Airflow or a similar orchestration tool (general understanding of Airflow DAGs and control flows, brancing / sensors / triggering rules)
• AWS CloudWatch logs and EC2 and Launch templates are good to have!
• Packaging of artefacts for CD and hashing for integrity checks is a bonus
• Encryption with symmetric and asymmetric keys: GPG, RSA, SHA2 and Fernet Key.
