Reporting to the Coordinator Waste Collection and Processing, the Senior Waste Collection and Processing Officer is essential in delivering waste services and providing support to the community. The role ensures efficient and effective domestic and commercial waste services while maintaining high customer service standards.
Collaborating with the waste services team, the officer focuses on enhancing service quality, improving efficiencies, and promoting sustainability.
This role will see you supporting waste reduction initiatives, managing contractor plans, conducting field inspections, overseeing waste management contracts, and responding to community inquiries. You will engage with a diverse range of employees and contractors to provide quality customer service and seek out opportunities for improvement.
This position plays an integral role in contributing to the delivery of organisational outcomes and Council's progressive Waste Management Strategy.
What you'll bring
To be eligible for this position you will:
- hold a Certificate IV in Business or relevant experience;
- have experience in an administrative capacity;
- have strong written, oral, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; and
- be willing to undertake field inspections.

Salary: $70,100 - $84,100 p.a. plus superannuation (depending on skills and experience). A vehicle arrangement will also be available for the successful candidate.
Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
