Where the team fits in
The Senior Commercial Analyst sits within the Finance and Business Services Group, headed up by the Chief Financial Officer. The Finance and Business Services team, or FaBS as we like to call them, is the engine room of the REA Group. The team is comprised of Finance, Risk & Assurance, Workplace Experience & Procurement, Investor Relations, Corporate Development and Corporate Communications.
This cross-functional group of individuals who are the best in their fields, provide strategic commercial input and guidance around decisions across all levels of the business, while continually improving the ‘behind the scenes’ of REA to support our people, drive efficiencies and maximise customer satisfaction.
What the role is all about
The Senior Commercial Analyst will be a key business partner supporting PropTrack, & other areas within the Property & Audience portfolio as required. They will be integral to month end results and provide analysis and insights with a view to maximizing commercial outcomes.
Own month end financial close and results
Prepare detailed revenue, cost and non-financial KPI analysis to identify insights and trends. Present the information and provide recommendations
Be a key driver of the budget, forecast and long-range planning processes
Support recent business acquisitions from a financial planning & analysis perspective
Drive improvements in reporting for operational management, leadership and Board level audiences
Model new initiatives and work with the business to deliver financially viable strategies
Extract and analyse data from multiple systems to meet group reporting requirements
Work with the financial accounting team to provide insights for statutory reporting
Establish critical relationships and pro-actively partner with key stakeholders
Ensure relevant SOX and other compliance requirements are met
Focus on process improvement, identifying opportunities and implementing solutions
Identify and keep abreast of industry trends, identify implications and opportunities for REA
Who we’re looking for
Someone with a few runs on the board – experience within Big 4 or in an industry environment in a commercial capacity
CA/CPA qualified
Analysis, modelling, budgeting and forecasting experience
Advanced excel skills
Strong initiative; willingness to take ownership
Excellent analytical capabilities, numeracy skills and accountability
Looks at tricky situations through a solutions-focused lens
Demonstrated commercial acumen and stakeholder management
