Our opportunity
The Senior Commercial Finance Manager, Funds is a senior finance business partner role within Mirvac's Funds Management Finance team. This role is focused on managed Funds and will actively contribute to their strategy, key decisions, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow and capital management, processes and controls, performance and reporting, focusing on the needs of managed Funds.
In this role you will:
- Business Partner: Finance business partner for managed Funds. Proactively providing finance expertise and guidance to Funds and building strong working relationships with stakeholders across the broader Funds Management and Group Advisory & Solution teams.
- Strategy: Assist Fund Managers from a finance perspective with the development and execution of strategy on behalf of Capital Partners.
- Planning and Performance Management: Contribute to the establishment of financial plans and targets in line with the relevant performance management framework. Contribute to capital planning and ongoing management of targets (capital and returns) to provide options and initiatives to meet objectives. Monitor and support transactional deliverables and financial performance to meet short- and long-term targets.
- Reporting and Analysis: Ensure reporting requirements and analysis needs of management and investors are met. Continuously improve timeliness, quality and accessibility of information for decision making.
- Valuation and Portfolio Management: Actively involved in the reporting of valuations / investment reporting for Funds.
- Key Transactions, Developments and New Business: Contribute to team discussions and analysis in relation to key transactions, developments and New Business, including; optimising deal structures (coordinating across finance, accounting, tax, treasury to optimise outcomes); understanding financial impacts and contributing to Investment Committee papers.
- Financial Control & Compliance: Ensure robust and reliable controls are in place. Identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve financial management processes to ensure efficient, transparent and effective processes.
- Cost Base: Manage overheads; provide insight into, recommend initiatives to manage cost base and maintain appropriate overhead controls.
- Treasury: Work with Treasury team to ensure appropriate debt strategies, cashflow forecasting and reporting needs are met.
- Tax: Work with the Tax team on complex matters, key transactions and strategic decisions for Office Funds to ensure key tax considerations are appropriately taken into account.
- Continuous improvement and transformation: Actively support transformational change and continuous improvement in finance in line with the Mirvac's strategic direction, Mirvac NEXT change program, and any finance operating model enhancements. Visibly demonstrates commitment and support to activities that optimise, standardize and automate key processes within finance, and activities that optimise resourcing and service delivery across finance.
Your point of difference
To be successful in this role, you be CA / CPA qualified with prior experience working in property or Funds Management. You have a demonstrable ability to partner with senior management and wider finance function. Demonstrated experience or involvement in the management of third-party capital and related reporting and governance requirements, with a strong understanding of commercial drivers and balancing finance, accounting, tax and treasury impacts is a must. You will have managed financial deliverables across analysis, performance management and financial control - optimising financial performance and managing risk.
