About the Role
Reporting the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) the Commercial Manager is a key member of MCi’s Commercial function and is responsible for accelerating the profitable commercialisation and deployment of decarbonisation plants and carbon embodied materials utilising MCi’s mineral carbonation technology.
The role will involve business development activities and working directly with MCi’s international customer base on new and existing projects. This will include assisting customers with feasibility studies and market assessments of MCi’s carbon embodied materials as well as funding opportunities to support customer decarbonisation programs.
Responsibilities
- Drive proactive and targeted business development efforts for deploying MCi’s mineral carbonation technology to reduce CO2 emissions globally.
- Assist customers in their decarbonization programs, including feasibility studies, market assessments, and securing funding for decarbonization initiatives.
- Identify target markets for MCi’s technology and carbon embodied materials.
- Conduct analytical activities including price intelligence and investigation of prospective sales channels for carbon embodied materials.
- Develop high-quality presentations, proposals and financial business cases for customers.
- Develop and manage partnerships and customer relationships to facilitate growth, ensure a seamless experience and maximize returns for MCi.
- Negotiation of commercial and contractual documents including non-disclosure agreements, MOUs, JDA’s, term sheets and conditional and binding offtake agreements.
- Contribute to the development of commercial models and strategies.
- Conduct commercial risk assessments to protect MCi’s technology and financial position.
- Interface with MCi’s technology function as customer manager on enquiries, introductory briefing sessions and early phase CO2 abatement concept and scoping studies (technoeconomic assessments).
Required Experience and Skills
- Experience in commercial, business development, and customer relationship management that illustrates an ability to build and maintain a strong business pipeline.
- Relevant experience in heavy emissions industry, industrial product markets, carbon markets, or consulting sectors that is transferable to a new and exciting decarbonisation industry.
- Strong financial and commercial.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to think laterally and creatively and resolve issues in complex situations.
- Experience working with diverse cultures.

Required Qualifications
The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role
- Relevant undergraduate qualifications with 5-10 years of industrial experience.
- Experience in carbon-intensive industries engaged in decarbonization planning or execution.
- Experience in industries utilizing low-carbon materials.
