As Senior Communications Manager you will lead a team of communication specialists who support the bank's Talent & Culture, Finance, Risk and Legal functions, and ANZ's Group Capability Centre in communicating their strategies and key programs. Working with the Head of Communication, Enablement Functions, you will set the team's direction and lead and empower them to develop and deliver communications plans to support ANZ's strategic priorities. Your role will drive project and change communications and deliver effective leadership communications for the Group Executive of Talent & Culture, ANZ's Chief Financial Officer, Chief Risk Officer and ANZ's Group General Counsel.
This role is accountable for:
- Acting as 2IC to the Head of Communications (HOC), Enablement Functions and supporting the HOC on overall communications strategy and execution.
- Leading and managing four direct report (s), including their performance management and rem, growth and development.
- Designing and executing communication plans aligned to the strategic pillars of ANZ's Talent & Culture, Finance, Legal and Risk functions and ANZ's Group Capability Centre and leveraging opportunities across owned channels ensuring risks and issues are identified with plans to mitigate them.
- Developing and amplifying narratives for key initiatives/priorities sharing ANZ's progress and vision with stakeholders and other divisions across the bank.
- Delivering change communications, major projects and key initiatives as required.
- Building and maintaining networks and relationships across key stakeholder groups that support collaborative work practices and coordination.

- Extensive experience in developing and implementing communication strategies to support complex projects.
- Track record of providing communication counsel to executives and senior leaders to enable them to lead dialogue with their stakeholders.
- Experience in delivering effective communications to support complex change programs.
- Strong on maintaining situational awareness, with an ability to look ahead for obstacles and opportunities, and curiosity about new information and diverse perspectives.
- Proven sound judgement and the ability to make timely decisions in an ambiguous environment.
- Skilled at prioritisation and ability to make trade-offs while balancing risks and opportunities and remain calm under pressure.
- Source information and actionable data insights that will improve communications and decision-making, critical to building insights and capabilities to make better decisions that build stakeholders' trust and drive positive outcomes.
- Project management skills and an ability to produce, consult and follow through on communications plans and strategies (including digital and social).
- Crisis communications: experience managing or leading teams to respond and providing advice to business leaders during a crisis.
