About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Communications Manager - Engagement to join our team based in Melbourne or Adelaide.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and/or hybrid working.
Reporting to the Chief of Staff you will be responsible for developing and delivering an overarching engagement communications plan across the Enterprise, and for overseeing its execution to support the delivery of the Communications Strategy for BAE Systems Australia. The role-holder will be an important member of the leadership team for the function.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive and develop an Enterprise-wide engagement communications plan including objectives, tactics, channels, measurement and best practice approach
- Work closely across Business Units and Functions to ensure best practice to all employee communications
- Manage the coordination of all internal communications activities ensuring compliance with stakeholder strategies and approval channels
- Facilitate leadership communications
- Work with and be the prime partners for Chief People Office, Safety, and Data, Digital and Cyber communications
- Manage community investment strategy and implementation including budget, engagement with internal and external stakeholders and UK counterparts to ensure compliance and return on investment
About YOU
- Tertiary qualification in Communications or related field and/or equivalent experience
- Extensive experience in employee communications at a senior strategic level in a corporate environment
- Strong people leadership skills and demonstrated success leading teams
- Excellent strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills
- Knowledge of the Defence industry would be desirable
- Experience in government, corporate communications and/or media agency
