Warragamba Silverdale Neighbourhood Centre is a non-for-profit organisation. We are growing and delivering innovative therapeutic supports and programs for community inclusion, individuals, child and families within the Warragamba, Silverdale and surrounding area.
We provide various strategic supports and services to the local community including Targeted Supports, Programs, Events, Long Day Care, Out of School Hours Care and Vacation Care services. The Opportunity:
WSNC is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Community Child, Family Practitioner to join our team in Warragmaba NSW. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the lives within community including individuals, children, young people and families through trauma-responsive training, clinical consultation, and comprehensive support. Your expertise will not only enhance their capacity but also elevate our service delivery to new heights, ensuring every decision and action is rooted in empathy and informed by best practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Empower and support a dedicated team staff and volunteers, leading them with innovative and trauma-informed approaches.
- Navigate and manage complex cases with professionalism and insight, providing expert guidance and co-working where necessary.
- Craft and oversee the implementation of personalized, culturally sensitive plans that truly resonate with the needs of individuals, children and young people and families.
- Champion continuous improvement by steering initiatives, shaping policy development, and evaluating programs to adapt and thrive.
- Ensure our practices comply with rigorous standards and regulations, embodying excellence in every facet of your work.
Essential Criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate area e.g., social work, social science, welfare, psychology, education or related discipline
- Is skilled in culturally sensitive practices, adept at working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
- Has experience in undertaking intake assessment and case management, particularly for children, young people and families affected by trauma, abuse, or neglect.
- Is proficient in social work and trauma-informed therapies, with abilities in planning, interventions, risk assessment, training, and supervising.
- Has strong documentation skills, ensuring records are maintained and completed consistently and accurately.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with children, young people, families, colleagues, and external partners; knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory requirements.
- Experience and exceptional understanding of DCJ TEI Reforms and programs
- Experience and demonstrated skills operating DEX program
- Experience working in a similar program
- Exceptional data entry skills
- Exceptional time management skills
- Proficient in using Word, Excel, Publisher etc
- Experience in facilitating/developing programs with capacity building focus
- Experience in group work and delivering parenting programs
- Experience delivering supervision and managing staff/volunteers
- Current NSW driver’s license
- Police check and Working with Children Check
- Cert IV in Training/Facilitation desirable

You Will Need To:
