Senior Compliance Officer - Case ManagementTHE OPPORTUNITYThe Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission have several exciting opportunities for experienced case managers during a busy period. This is your chance to make a real difference to the safety and wellbeing of aged care consumers.The Senior Compliance Officer - Case Management role is responsible for monitoring and Case Management of residential approved providers’ actions to address non-compliance with their legislated aged care responsibilities. The role will need to gather and evaluate evidence, lead discussions with residential providers both virtually and onsite about any non-compliance and make impartial recommendations for remedial action.The position will manage a large caseload, and the successful candidate will need to possess demonstrated sound judgment, analytical, attention to detail and organisational skills to conduct risk assessments to make informed decisions on when to escalate or deescalate cases within the Quality Standards and aged care regulatory legislation.For more information about the role, please refer to the Position Description located on our web page.About the SectionThe Compliance Case Management (Residential) section responds to non-compliance of residential approved providers with the Quality Standards, as well as broader legislative responsibilities under the Aged Care Act.The section will make a risk-based assessment of a residential provider’s remedial action plan and confirm or adjust the initial desired outcome and most appropriate and proportional regulatory pathway to achieve this. Furthermore, the section will advise residential providers on how to address their non-compliance and link them with appropriate areas of the Commission, other agencies and services that can support them in addressing non-compliance and build a sustainable service.More information about the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission can be found on our .KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Make recommendations that are timely, proportionate and well-reasoned
  • Identify and escalate issues and emerging risks
  • Identify and escalate opportunities for improvement
  • Engage with providers as required in a professional manner
  • Ensure records are kept to the required standard
  • Support team wellbeing by participating actively in conversations and activities
  • Ongoing case evaluation, including escalation and de-escalation based on risk.
  • Support the Assistant Director as required, including acting in higher duties
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTSKey capabilities
  • Developing leadership skills
  • Knowledge of different regulatory pathways and how to apply them to cases
  • Ability to case manage and monitor providers, including the ability to gather and evaluate evidence.
  • Ability to lead meetings with providers, both virtually and on-site.
  • Strong understanding of the relevant aged care regulatory legislation
  • Ability to undertake local and interstate travel when required

In addition to the above key candidate qualities, to be eligible for this position you must:
  • be an Australian citizen
  • satisfy a National Coordinated Criminal History Check
