Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support in the delivery of a wide spectrum of ESG consulting and assurance projects, ranging from strategy development through to climate risk assessment through to sustainability reporting and assurance
- Prepare and Quality Review working papers, including data collection, analysis, and work paper documentation and proof-read narrative reports and presentations of observations and recommendations;
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team across a range of industries to assist companies in better understanding and developing solutions to respond to the complex and evolving policy, regulatory, and business environment risks and opportunities associated with ESG/Sustainability and Decarbonisation;
- Supervise and enhance the analysis of corporate activities and provide recommendations related to enhance their sustainability/ESG strategy, methods, framework, and related tools to support clients in achieving their sustainability/ ESG objectives;
- Development of sustainability/ESG programs and related reporting, such as materiality assessments, peer benchmarking, stakeholder engagement, gap analysis, metric/KPI identification (in alignment with common sustainability/ESG reporting standards such as GRI, TCFD or IFRS S1 and S2), and the preparation of reporting (internal and external) materials;
- Responsible for a “mentor group” – which involves coaching junior team members to develop new skills, monitor their performance, support their development and help manage their career growth.
- Promote key principals including flexible working arrangements, inclusivity, agile auditing and continuous improvement.
- Ability to quickly learn concepts outside of your area of expertise.
Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental/Sustainability or equivalent studies such as Business/Commerce/Engineering
- Relevant certification or professional membership
- Understanding of the following concepts and frameworks preferred:
- Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)
- Task Force on Climate Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
- Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB)
- Sustainably Development Goals (SDGs)
- 3 – 5 years’ experience preferably within Professional Services or a relevant industry position
- Experience of ESG consulting/assurance/internal audit work and the ability to apply this expertise from this perspective
- In-depth technical knowledge of relevant frameworks and the international regulatory and policy context, specifically knowledge and experience of working with the GHG Protocol Scope 1, 2 and 3
- Extensive experience applying your knowledge and expertise in a variety of sectors
- Excellent stakeholder and client management skills. The position may require you to work with multiple teams and clients in a local and/or international context
