As the Senior Sustainability Advisor, you’ll play a key role in promoting excellence in sustainability outcomes through the development and implementation of programs and projects that align with Powerlink’s strategic direction.


Working closely with the Manager, Environment – you’ll identify sustainability related issues and partner closely with both internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement sustainability policies, strategies, and action plans to deliver climate change and sustainability outcomes, ensuring alignment with the broader organisational strategy.


A key part of your role will be providing advice and input into the ongoing development, maintenance and improvement of Powerlink’s HSE Management System to ensure effective delivery of processes and procedures which meet legislative requirements.


Utilising your expertise, you will explore new and innovative opportunities to support the HSE Strategy and lead the delivery of various sustainability initiatives, ensuring they are successfully embedded across the business, and that systems and processes remain fit-for-purpose and up-to-date.

What you’ll bring

  • Degree level qualifications in Environmental or Sustainability fields or a lesser qualification coupled with equivalent experience.
  • Open C-class drivers licence (manual).
  • Formal internal audit qualifications (e.g. IS14001) and experience in delivering formal HSE audits.

We’d also love you to have:

  • Experience in an environmental role within the Construction and/or Electricity Industries.
  • Previous experience in environmental sustainability, nature resource management or similar transferable skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Extensive experience in designing, developing and delivering environmental sustainability management process, systems strategies and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
