The opportunity
As the Senior Consultant - Mechanical Engineering, you will report directly to the Security and Technology Solutions team and play a crucial role in providing Governance and Assurance services to support maritime programs. Collaborating with the ANZAC SPO and other Defence stakeholders, you will work towards achieving the program's objectives and outcomes.
The key responsibilities of this role include, but not limited to:
- Conduct engineering investigations and reviews for defects, obsolescence, and proposed changes.
- Support engineering change requests to determine feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Analyse, monitor, and report on risks and opportunities.
- Conduct Research & Development activities as directed.
- Evaluate emerging technologies as directed.
- This role will require on-site work with possible flexibility
About You

- A degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in engineering analysis, investigations, certification, and Systems Engineering to sustain and modify a materiel system.
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, organise, and prioritise complex tasks.
- Excellent written and communication skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Previous experience with the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), or Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG) is desirable.
- Chartered Engineer or on the pathway to becoming a Chartered Engineer.
Candidates must hold a Security Clearance to Negative Vetting level 1 (NV1).
