Our Policy, Economics and Public Impact (PEPI) practice in Melbourne is looking for exceptional candidates at the Senior Consultant level who are interested in the public sector to join our team.

The projects we undertake include:

• Strategic advice on policy, structural and governance reform: working with all levels of government to respond to the most challenging societal issues, including how to develop sound, economically viable policies and programs to achieve desired impacts
• Organisational transformation and demand management: working with teams across the firm to set our clients up for lasting success
• Program design and administration: building best practice programs that meet the needs of consumers and government
• Business case and feasibility studies: making the arguments that lead to increased and diverse investment in policies that work
• Policy, organisation and program reviews and evaluations, including efficiency and effectiveness: providing our clients with a fresh look at ways to improve and streamline and learn from the experiences of staff and consumers
• Development of cost and economic models to support clients to plan for success.

How are you extraordinary?

To be considered for this opportunity, your skills & experience may include:

• Demonstrated experience in a public sector environment, including – but not limited to – the areas outlined above (ideally 3-5 years relevant experience)
• Strong interest in and commitment to continuing to develop your skills in these areas
• Proven track record in contributing to and delivering projects successfully
• Strong communications skills, with demonstrated business writing and presentation skills
• Strong analytical and numerical capabilities
• Stakeholder engagement and management skills including conducting interviews, workshops, and delivering presentations
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.

As a Senior Consultant you will support a variety of exciting and dynamic engagements, including by:

• Supporting project and program management processes
• Providing analysis and input to shape future policy and programs
• Taking ownership of small to medium sized projects, with guidance and support from senior team members
• Assisting with communication and stakeholder engagement activities
• Developing relationships with clients and across the firm
• Developing and supporting project and program performance status reports
