Senior Accountant

Morgan Consulting is pleased to be partnering with a progressive accounting and advisory firm located in the Melbourne CBD seeking an Intermediate / Senior Accountant to join a motivated and collaborative team. They have experienced steady growth for several years now which has opened the door for a new member to join the business services team. They provide fortnightly training for staff including mentoring from ex Big4 and Mid-tier Partners, regular social events, working from home flexibility and a fantastic team culture. The client base includes a mix of international and local businesses across a range of industries.Key Responsibilities:

• Build relationships with clients from day one
• Preparation of management reports, financial statements, tax returns and BAS’s for individuals, partnerships, companies and trusts
• Preparation of FBT returns
• Preparation of correspondence with clients
• Review the work of Junior Accountants
• Working closely with the team manager and executive director
• Bank reconciliations, bookkeeping duties and transactional entries for multiple clients across many industries
• Assisting in data gathering and information preparation for the financial year end and audit processes

Requirements:

• 3+ years’ experience within an Australian public practice accounting firm
• Commenced or completed your CA or CPA studies
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Outstanding technical skills in a range of areas including income tax, accounting, compliance obligations, GST & payroll tax
• Confident in a client-facing role, ability to multi-task with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• A desire to succeed and achieve goals both as a team and individually
• Sound knowledge of Xero is desirable
