Job Description
The Position
The Senior Contracts Administrator delivers all aspects of contract administration across a wide range of products and services that contribute to the construction, safety, quality, reliability, and profitability of the Kemerton site. The role works with all project stakeholders to manage scope, tender, negotiate, execute, vary, and manage contracts.
The role will require balancing the need to complete many contracts with the opportunity to shape the contract landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the safety of the site by ensuring a safety focus in all site contract activities.
- Work with project stakeholders to identify needs and develop scopes of work for supply of products and services to site.
- Manage the full life cycle of multiple, concurrent tendering/contract activities for a broad range of products and services with different priorities, spends and risks. These activities could have various involvement from site, regional and global Procurement colleagues.
- Effectively identify and communicate with all stakeholders the progress of activities, identify risks, and proactively resolve issues and understand where to escalate issues where required.
- Negotiate contract agreements and amendments including the management and negotiation of complex or high-value contracts.
- Work with Legal in the preparation and negotiation of contracts where required.
- Assess contract performance and compliance, conduct audits and reviews and address issues in a timely manner including the involvement of stakeholders as required.
- Ensure that contracts are updated in compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Identify, propose, and implement supply options that improve the total cost of ownership for the business, including development of business cases.
- Manage a pipeline of new and expiring contracts to ensure that contracts are in place when required and do not lapse, including timely stakeholder engagement in order to kick off contracting activities in a manner optimising business outcomes.
- Manage the EPCM to assess compliance with company pre- and post-Award contract management requirements.
- Ensure timely management of the progress payment process for assigned contracts.
- Ensure that all insurances and performance guarantees are valid (and continue to be maintained) in accordance with contract requirements.
- Utilise available software systems to manage contracting activity.
- In all activities, act ethically and with a high level of respect.
- Mentor and support team members and in particular contract administrators in order to aid in skills development and achieve optimal outcomes for the company.
Work Experience / Technical Skill Requirements
- Minimum 5 - 10 years demonstrated contracting / supply experience.
- Demonstrated experience working in a resources, construction, manufacturing, industrial, chemical, or other relevant industry.
- SAP, Aconex and Ariba experience desirable but not required.
- Experience working in a green-fields or major brown-fields project environment desirable but not required.
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills including prioritisation of work in order to ensure optimal project outcomes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including within the team, with stakeholders and contractors/ suppliers.
- Experience working in a dynamic work environment requiring the application of skills and experience including where structured guidance may be unavailable (and supporting continuous improvement of company procedures).
- Intermediate MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Excellent problem-solving and dispute resolution capability.
- Strong experience in stakeholder identification, engagement and management.
- Demonstrated ability to work continuously under pressure.
- Some experience working in a dotted-line capacity or in mixed local/global environments.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment.
Education / Qualification Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in a related discipline preferred.
