Within Western Australia our Mining & Resources Division delivers engineering and construction projects for our key Tier 1 iron ore producing clients, which enables them to sustain and expand their mining operations throughout the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. As a trusted partner to the WA resource sector, Calibre is integrated in our Client’s Major Projects which enables up to go above and beyond and succeed together with our clients.

The Role:

Working with a long standing client of Calibre, on a major project, this role will assume responsibility of day to day contractual matters. This is a long term opportunity, with the project heading into construction next month Your day to day will look like;

• Arranging for the commercial and technical evaluation of bids, and ensuring that purchase orders comply with appropriate specifications
• Identifying and recommending appropriate procurement strategies to minimise costs without compromising service levels;
• Preparing and issuing tender documentation, enquiries and purchase orders for high value/high risk items
• Contributing to and reviewing the scopes of work and contract conditions
• Assessing, reviewing and advising senior/project managers in respect of contractor claims for variations, progress claims and extensions
• Ensuring all commercial requirements of the contracts are satisfied; and developing and maintaining sound professional relationships with key suppliers

Thrive with us! We hope you'll bring:

• A tertiary degree in commerce, engineering, law or other relevant discipline
• 7+ years experience establishing and managing high‐value long term service contracts
• A good understanding of large scale mining and resource projects, in particular Iron Ore
• Prior experience working in an EPC/EPCM environment during study phase
• Attention to detail and rigorously follows procedures
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with clients
