Position Overview:
My client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join their finance team on a 6-month Fixed term contract. As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting processes, supporting our commitment to transparency and compliance with regulatory standards.
Although this is on a contract basis initially, there is a strong possibility for this to convert to a permanent role.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for running the full audit process.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between financial reporting and operational activities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks.
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by management or external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CA qualification preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a financial accounting role, preferably within a publicly listed company.
- Strong Audit experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards, including IFRS and Australian GAAP.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software - Pronto desirable.
