We have a 24-month contract opportunity for a Senior Conveyancer to join our in-house team in Melbourne. Working in a collaborative environment with a close-knit and diverse team, you will play a key part in the process where your contributions help impact the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- For large and/or complex portfolio, prepare and execute contracts, manage contracts (including 'subject to finance' clauses, cancellations, extensions, rescissions), manage registration, manage settlement and post-settlement activities. Contract types include sale of land, completed homes, medium density, put and calls, accretions, nominees, leasebacks, display village, mortgage/vendor finance
- Coach and develop Conveyancers, and assist them to take on larger and more complex portfolios
- Assist Development Team with plan registrations
- Maintain training in PEXA to ensure accurate signing of financial documents in PEXA and transfer documents
- Comply with all Compliance Plans relative to Conveyancing as well as team processes and policies including Legal Escalation, document storage in Salesforce and SharePoint
- Support the time escalation of complaints, variations and other matters
- Support the implementation of initiatives or other relevant projects within the state, including embedding changes and measuring benefits and collaborating with peers in other states to support consistent operations
- Proactive business partner, contributing to the accurate forecasting of sales and settlements and improved 'in the bin' results, driving excellent and seamless customer experience, and collaborating to ensure zero compliance breaches across the Resi business
About you
- Licenced Conveyancer or Lawyer
- Minimum of four years conveyancing or relevant legal experience
- Good understanding of the commercial operations of the Resi business and the role of in-house Conveyancing
- Experience working in a business partnering capacity
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal as well as listening
- A team player, that can work with and through others
