In this role, you will be working closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards. The position requires a high
level of expertise in cost estimation, forecasting, analysis, and reporting.
Accountabilities
- Identify and lead resolution of opportunities for improvement across the project from WHSE and construction to planning and project controlling aspects.
- Provide insights by way of cost, progress, commercial, and change control that informs strategic and managerial decision making throughout the project.
- Ensure project development is undertaken in accordance with PMS requirements – including reporting.
- Support third-party/independent project reviews.
- Accountability for project Cost Controls development, resources, and outputs, including scoping, estimating, Cost Control, progress assessment, forecasting, change control, and reporting.
- Develop and implement Cost Control procedures and processes for A Wall stabilisation project.
- Provide accurate SAP data-based cost estimates, accruals, and forecasts for projects, including the preparation of detailed cost reports and variance analyses.
- Work with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and cost optimisation strategies.
- Monitor and analyse project costs to ensure adherence to budget and forecasted costs and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
- Conduct regular audits of project costs to identify potential cost overruns and take appropriate measures to mitigate risks and communicate outcomes/ requirements to relevant team members.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients.
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, business, finance, engineering, construction, or equivalent
- Experienced with multiple project portfolios in mining, refinery, smelters, oil & gas, or material processing industry.
- High level of SAP and PRISM proficiency
- Experience and knowledge of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
- Project controls and management software systems knowledge
- Working knowledge of compiling periodic reporting on project work scopes, including monthly project reporting and quarterly project reviews
