As a Senior Cyber Threat Responder at HBF, your primary objective will be to maintain an effective cyber security Threat Response function. This includes detection, response, and recovery from security threats, ensuring the safety and security of our members' data and assets.
Position Accountabilities:
- Develop: Contribute to the enhancement of HBF’s cyber security threat response capabilities, including developing and deploying on-premises and cloud-based detection & response technologies.
- Operate: Monitor and maintain security incident prevention, detection, and response technologies, ensuring their relevance and effectiveness. Conduct research and analysis to stay abreast of Cyber Threats and recommend improvements to remain prepared.
- Consult: Provide advice and training to technology teams on cyber security issues, assist in deploying countermeasures during incident response, and collaborate with team members to manage security events and issues.
- All HBF employees: Participate in performance planning and development programs, training activities, and adhere to safe work procedures.
About You
The ideal candidate for the Senior Cyber Threat Responder role at HBF is a seasoned professional with a passion for cyber security and a proven track record of success in similar roles. You possess a comprehensive understanding of Cyber Threats, risk management processes, and national/international regulations, coupled with at least 5 years of practical experience in the field. Your educational background in Technology, Cyber Security, or related disciplines provides you with a solid foundation for addressing complex security challenges.
You thrive in dynamic environments where you can apply your expertise to enhance cyber security measures and respond effectively to emerging threats. Your proficiency in tools such as Splunk, coupled with your experience in network security, threat hunting, and incident response, enables you to develop and deploy innovative solutions to safeguard HBF's digital assets.
Your consultative approach and excellent communication skills allow you to collaborate seamlessly with stakeholders across departments, providing expert advice and guidance on cyber security matters. You are proactive, adaptable, and driven to stay ahead of evolving Cyber Threats, ensuring HBF maintains a robust cyber defense posture.

Essential Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar Cyber Security role for at least 5 years.
- Tertiary education in Technology, Cyber Security, or related fields.
- Knowledge of national and international laws, regulations, policies, and ethics related to Cyber Security.
- Understanding of Cyber Security Kill Chains and experience with the MITRE ATT&CK Framework.
- Extensive experience in SIEM, network security, threat hunting, or incident response.
