Job description

As a Senior Dangerous Goods Officer, you will be working collaboratively in a team of dedicated safety officers to positively influence people’s ongoing safety from Dangerous Goods and explosives across Western Australia. The officer in this role will be responsible for a diverse range of activities, including site inspections, compliance assessments, conducting investigations, collecting and analysing accident information, undertaking enforcement and implementing processes to prevent accidents.
Your ability to interpret and apply legislation and perform complex accident investigations will be key to your success in this role.
Upon joining our team, you will embark on a structured training program designed to equip you with the expertise required to excel in this role. This program will cover and evaluate your understanding of aspects of the Dangerous Goods Safety Act 2004, regulations, and our inspection process.
Successful completion of the training will pave the way to your formal gazettal as a Dangerous Goods Officer and you’ll be able to utilise the delegated powers to make a positive difference in the safety of our community.
This position is located in East Perth, however, occasional travel to remote sites is required.
