Seeking experienced and dynamic person-centred Disability Support Workers to join our growing team at Nangray Inclusive Supports.
Recruiting for current programs including:
- Supporting teenagers and/or young adults within a 24/7 program of supports within their home and the community who present with challenging and complex behavioural support needs
Disability Support Workers need to have extensive experience implementing strategies as outlined in Positive Behaviour Support Plans, using various communication devices/methods and have a sound knowledge in supporting individuals with Autism.
To be successful in your role as a Disability Support Worker, you will have:
- Certificate III in Individual Support/Disability or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience supporting individuals with Autism and Intellectual Disability with complex support needs
- Knowledge & experience Implementing specialist behaviour support strategies
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to apply
- TGA approved Covid-19 vaccination including booster if eligible or medical exemption
- Current First Aid/CPR accreditation (HLTAID003 & HLTAID001)
- Medication Administration Competency (Assist with Medication)
- Must have CPI Safety Intervention Training
- Australian Drivers Licence
- Availability to work a variety of shifts during the week/weekends
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as autonomously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physically fit to participate in physical activities within the community such as hiking and various sports activities with participants
- A positive attitude to learn and grow in a supportive environment
- Must have access to smart phone
- Must have knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Office and basic IT skills
