Senior Data Analyst

Talent Insights are currently hiring for a Senior Data Analyst to join one of Australia’s largest government agencies on a 12 month contract. 
  
For this role you MUST be an Australian Citizen and can be located in VIC or NSW. 

In this role you will be working within the Data and Analytics Branch. This branch is responsible for providing high quality data and reporting, translating Insights into business performance as well as developing and maintaining the enterprise data warehouse. 
  
Key responsibilities: 

• Capture business requirements and underlying data needs. 
• Translate subject matter expert and stakeholder discussion into data and reporting products. 
• Translate key data insights into value adding products. 
• Design and build reports, dashboards and data products
• Drive best practice across the analytics chapter 
• Mentor and Lead junior analysts

Essential Criteria: 

• Demonstrated ability to identify organisational challenges and problem statements and be able to turn this into analytical and data business requirements. 
• Ability to articulate complex information into simple messages that can be consumed by key stakeholders 
• Demonstrated ability to design and build reports, dashboards and data products that support business processes and deliver business insights. 
• Ability to translate subject-matter expert and stakeholder discussion into data and reporting products. 
• Demonstrated ability to translate key data insights into value adding products. 

Desirable criteria: 

• Strong programming experience - SAS, SQL, Python, R etc 
• Experience working in an industrialised cloud Data Lake and/or EDW environment 
• Process Mapping-able to translate discussion into data flows and process documentation
• Experience working within Project management frameworks, tools and phases of the project lifecycle. 
• Strong interpersonal skills, stakeholder engagement and management
