We're on the hunt for an A-Grade Senior Data Engineer for our financial services client.

About the Role:
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and maintaining our client's data infrastructure and systems. Working in collaboration with diverse teams comprising data scientists, analysts, and software engineers, you will ensure the efficiency, scalability, and dependability of our data pipelines and analytics platforms.
Your proficiency in cloud data technologies such as dbt, Snowflake, AWS, coupled with expertise in Data Engineering practices like CI/CD, data modeling, and data warehousing, will be crucial in delivering top-notch and timely data solutions to cater to various business requirements.
Responsibilities:

• Engage with stakeholders to comprehend their needs and establish data ingestion processes, applications, and models to meet their demands.
• Collaborate closely with the analytics and data science team to create data solutions enabling them to derive insights from our data for critical business decisions.
• Take ownership of problems from inception to resolution, lead the team through design processes, and iterate on solutions.
• Provide active guidance on enhancements in processes, products, and deployed code.
• Contribute to the advancement of our foundational platform and products, ensuring sustainable scalability through code improvements that enhance reliability.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience with over 8 years of professional software engineering expertise.
• Proven experience in designing data models for efficient storage and retrieval to meet product and business needs.
• Proficient in Python & Scala programming languages.
• Hands-on experience in building scalable data pipelines using Spark, Airflow, DBT, and Snowflake.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services like ECS, EKS, S3, Cloudformation, IAM, etc.
• Well-versed in contemporary software development practices such as Agile, TDD, CICD.
• Experience working with relational databases and proficient in SQL query authoring.

Work Location and Style: This position is based in Melbourne's CBD with the option for Hybrid work.
