We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to play a pivotal role in the data science team. As one of the most technical members, you will have the opportunity to leverage your expertise in advanced data science platforms and machine learning engineering to drive impactful solutions for the business.
Position Overview:
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will act as a technical expert within the data science team, contributing to the development and implementation of cutting-edge solutions to address business challenges. Your role will involve collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, understanding business pain points, and delivering high-quality code and research-driven outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:

• Utilise advanced data science techniques and algorithms to develop innovative solutions for business challenges in the financial industry.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design and implement machine learning models and algorithms to extract insights and make predictions from complex datasets.
• Lead the end-to-end process from research and prototyping to production-level implementation, ensuring high-quality code and robust solutions.
• Work with Databricks and Gen AI platforms to develop proof of concepts (POCs) and scalable solutions.
• Leverage expertise in Python, Spark, and parallel computing paradigms to optimise data processing and analysis pipelines.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to the overall growth and development of the data science team.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in data science and machine learning techniques, and apply them to solve business problems effectively.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in advanced data science platforms and machine learning engineering, preferably in the financial industry.
• Proficiency in Databricks and Gen AI platforms, with a track record of delivering successful proof of concepts.
• Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in Spark and parallel computing paradigms.
• Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical analysis, and data visualisation techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., Master's or Ph.D.) preferred.
