Our values drive the way we do business, and we aim to make a difference through:Teamwork: Our teams are diverse, caring and productiveExcellence: We take pride in our work and encourage new ideas to deliver public valueIntegrity: We are ethical and accountable in all we doRespect: We are fair, trusting and appreciativeYour Next OpportunityAs our next Senior Database & Middleware Administrator working Full-Time out of Hobart, TAS, your primary responsibility will be to support the Department's ICT systems, ensuring the integrity, security, availability, and performance of database systems.Your core responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:Managing and maintaining database systems and middleware productsEnsuring database and middleware security and integrityMonitoring database performanceImplementing and managing database backups and recovery plansSupporting database system optimisationAssisting in database design and implementationProviding technical support for database issuesCollaborating with ICT teams to enhance database and application integrationsParticipate in formulating and maintaining technical standardsWhat You’ll Bring to the TeamTo qualify, you will need demonstrated high-level experience in the delivery of database administration services using Microsoft SQL Server, middleware administration along with associated tools and technologies.Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (eg. Computer Science or Information Technology, etc)Experience with administrating corporate applications on Microsoft Windows Server, Unix server or Azure IaaSProficiency in Apache Web Server, IIS applications, Wildfly/Java Application Server, Apache TomcatAdvanced knowledge of contemporary project management practicesHighly developed research, analytical, evaluation and reporting skillsHighly developed interpersonal communication skills and the ability to liaise and negotiate effectivelyAs our ideal candidate, you will possess a proactive work style, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to liaise and negotiate effectively, which will make you succeed in this role. Your ability to manage self and others to deliver high-quality outcomes within predetermined timeframes will be critical, as will your capacity for complex problem-solving in line with strategic directions.Be RewardedIn addition to a competitive starting salary ranging from $105,000 - $119,000 + 11% super, the successful candidate will enjoy a workplace culture that offers flexible working arrangements tailored to the unique needs of each individual.
