Due to a number of recently awarded projects, a position now exists for an experienced Senior Design Manager to join their very successful team in the Melbourne office. 
Your new role 
In the design and construction of every new project, you will oversee the overall process for all the various design aspects of the building. In this role, you’ll be tasked with integrating multiple building designs into a single finished product that is ready for construction. While this is a lot of responsibility to take on, the reward is that you get to leave your mark on the final, fully constructed building. 
As a Senior Design Manager, you will be responsible for client-side management of design, development and engineering across our projects. In the role, you will provide technical advice and guidance across a range of design and engineering issues during project development and delivery. 
You’ll coordinate all technical and engineering support for the project, including the development of requirements and the review of designs for completeness, compliance to requirements, standards and constructability, drawing upon technical specialist advice from subject-matter experts to resolve a range of engineering design challenges. The ability to build, maintain and influence strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders is fundamental to your success in this role. You will utilise your significant experience to mentor more junior staff and assist in fostering a mindset of designing things efficiently and in a way that will ensure our long-term Client Relationships are maintained. 

What you'll need to succeed 

Tertiary Qualifications in Architecture, Construction Management, Building Science or similar with more than 6 years’ experience as a Design Manager within the Commercial/Industrial Construction sector;

Ideally someone who is able to work at the front end in strategic design, with confidence in pulling design apart and utilising strong technical knowledge to achieve progressive and quality design outcomes

You must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Project and experience working with CAD or ArchiCAD or Revit or similar is a bonus but not essential

You have worked on projects valued between $5-$50 million

A strategic mind with the ability to engage others and drive initiatives to meet deadlines and achieve outstanding construction solutions

Strong commercial acumen and analysis capability

Great communication and influencing skills deal with high-level stakeholders
