Duties:We are seeking a talented and experienced hardgoods Designer to join our team in Melbourne. The
Senior Designer will play a key role in driving the creative direction of our product lines, collaborating closely with the Category Managers and Product team to develop compelling designs that resonate with our target audience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product design, a passion for innovation, and a keen eye for detail.
Skills & Responsibilities:- Lead the design process from concept development to final production for a range of general merchandise goods.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including product managers, marketers, and Category Managers to understand project requirements and translate them into innovative design solutions.
- Conduct market research and trend analysis to identify opportunities for product innovation and differentiation.
- Develop sketches, renderings, and prototypes to communicate design concepts effectively.
- Create detailed design specifications and documentation for manufacturing partners.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, fostering a culture of creativity and continuous improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in product design.
Qualifications:
- Higher education in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in product design, in the general merchandise/hardgoods industry.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, and SolidWorks.
- Strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to articulate design concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- A portfolio showcasing a range of successful design projects, demonstrating creativity, innovation, and attention to detail.
