As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be a part of a team that possess strong communication and collaboration skills with a DevOps mindset. The scope of your role will include (but not limited to):
- Production performance, stability and security.
- Maintaining and supporting DevOps toolsets, processes and automation supporting the software development lifecycle.
- Maintain and improve monitoring and metrics of production systems.
- Adopt best security practices in line with the NIST Cyber security framework (e.g., surveillance, data loss prevention, intrusion detection, event logging, application monitoring) and cloud best practices and compliance.
- Continuous improvement and release management.
- Identify and champion improvements to ensure our systems' reliability, observability, and security.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of work instructions and internal procedures.
- Collaboration with development teams on CI / CD improvement initiatives.
- Software and system optimisations with a view to improving productivity.
- System design.
- Improve the system design and architecture by identifying major areas of risk
- Participate and run design reviews, (AWS well architected reviews, operational readiness and security assessments)
- Lead technical initiatives and represent DevOps in cross functional team streams.
- Collaboration.
- Take ownership of initiatives such as contributing to the DevOps internal roadmap, cross-functional activities, as well as providing DevOps expertise and consultation to other teams on DevOps practices and maturity.
- Mentor junior members of the team.
Job Description
Our DevOps stack: Kubernetes, IAC, GitLab, Linux, Containerisation
Skills & experience we are looking for:
- Experience with deploying, configuring and managing resources and platforms at scale on cloud environments.
- Experience designing and building application containerisation and modernisation solutions Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience writing and deploying Infrastructure as code – Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
- Scripting and deployment automation experience.
- Experience in designing CI/CD, logging and monitoring tools for development teams
- Strong understanding of enterprise architectures, with OS experience across Linux and Windows.
- Exposure to NIST Cyber security framework and Container Vulnerability / Compliance Scanning tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Intrinsic passion for problem-solving.
Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology (or equivalent)
