Details: Working with Community Services Directorate (CSD) offers you the opportunity to directly contribute to supporting the Canberra Community. Children, Youth, and Families currently have several Senior Director vacancies. Senior Directors in Children Youth and Families are key operational positions, each managing significant functions and extensive people management responsibilities.
The roles are accountable to the Executive Branch Manager/s, and or Executive Group Manager and the occupants are expected to demonstrate strong management and leadership capability in line with the organisational values, the ability to think strategically in a busy operational environment, possess excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills and outstanding customer service experience.

Eligibility/Other requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Welfare, Social Science or related discipline is essential. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who do not have these qualifications but who have appropriate and relevant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural heritage and experience are eligible to apply. For Youth Justice positions, relevant qualification in Criminology or Law may be considered as compliant.
- CYPP 6 must have at least five (5) years of practical experience working with children, young people and/or their families in a social work/case management and/or leadership role.
- Experience leading teams in a community services environment is essential.
- Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
- Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) - Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Working with vulnerable people (WWVP) registration (act.gov.au).
- Driver’s license (C class) is essential.
