The LRG team is responsible for providing policy advice and developing legislation in relation to the regulation of liquor, racing and gaming in the ACT. This includes supporting the Government’s regulatory and harm reduction initiatives and the delivery of gaming related commitments made under the Parliamentary and Governing Agreement of the 10th Assembly. The team works closely with Access Canberra, as the regulator, the community and industry stakeholders to formulate policy and legislation advice to Government and to develop and implement initiatives.
The Senior Director is responsible for the overall management of the team. The Senior Director will provide strategic leadership for the team including managing resources, work planning and developing team capacity to ensure timely delivery of outcomes in relation to a range of policy projects. The Senior Director will represent LPP at Executive level and Stakeholder meetings, and on inter-directorate and inter-governmental projects.
Eligibility/ Other Requirements: Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, economics or a related field or significant study towards gaining qualifications is desirable.
Note: This is a temporary position available for a period of nine months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months. The successful applicant may be selected based on written application and referee reports only. A merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
