Job Opportunity: Senior Drainage Engineer
Join a dynamic team as a Senior Drainage Engineer in Beachworth, Victoria.
This permanent role offers a competitive salary of $94,000 - $106,000 per annum + Super
9-day fortnight / hybrid work model including 2 days per week working from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement stormwater drainage masterplans in urban and rural environments.
- Design stormwater drainage improvements for asset renewals and respond to drainage problems and flooding events.
- Transition the area to sustainable stormwater management practices.
- Support the Manager Capital Works & Waste in overseeing stormwater and drainage projects.
- Project management of capital stormwater and drainage projects.
- Managing external funds for projects.
- Designing stormwater, drainage, and kerb & channel projects.
- Continuous improvement of engineering practices.
- Liaising with community groups and government agencies.
- Investigating and resolving stormwater and drainage issues.
- Leading drainage asset renewals and rehabilitations.
- Provide high-quality customer service.
- Support council objectives and values.
- Encourage teamwork and participate in training programs.
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate records.
- Ensure public safety and follow risk management procedures.
- Comply with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Reports to Manager Assets and Property.
- Supervises contractors and consultants.
- Liaises with internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of stormwater management principles and regulations.
- Experience in project and contract management.
- Proficiency in design and drafting software.
- Strong community and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Tertiary degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Minimum 4 years' experience in Civil Stormwater Management.
- Continuing professional development evidence.
- Experience with drafting and stormwater software.
- Victorian Driver's Licence (or State equivalent).
- Experience in delivering stormwater projects.
- Ability to provide innovative design solutions.
- Experience in municipal stormwater systems.
- Proficiency in engineering software packages.
- Effective workload prioritization skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
