Exciting opportunity to use your key engineering design skills to help deliver complex civil projects for the Manningham community. This role plays a vital role in scoping and managing civil infrastructure projects with a water focus, so works could include easement drainage design or solving flooding issues with other civil related works thrown in for variety. About the Role
This position is responsible for the design and administration of the infrastructure projects with an emphasis on drainage for Manningham. This is achieved through the evaluation of design problems and then designing or managing consultants to develop construction plans for tendering. Often, you will be required to think on your feet and adapt to changing conditions- be that underground services, politics, or topography, amongst others, to ensure works get designed to a high standard.
Skills and Experience
- Ability to- create and interpret civil infrastructure plans and related documentation.
- Strong flexible communication skills, including the ability to use persuasive language to discuss issues with stakeholders to achieve positive design outcomes and to be able to manage designs to ensure good safe project outcomes.
- Use judgement to create and assess construction plans and alongside construction engineers assist with on-site guidance in accordance with sound engineering principles.
- Strong engineering understanding including Australian design standards/specifications and guidelines.
- Proven ability to manage multiple workflows at once with strong time management skills.
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or similar suitable field (registered as an Engineer in Victoria, or with the ability to be)
- Driver’s license valid in Victoria.
