Senior Economist / Assistant Director

Our client, a Government agency, is seeking a Senior Economist to join their team.

About the role

• Lead the ongoing management of economic modelling, including leading scenario testing, maintenance, and continual refinement for relevant models and/or forecasts.
• Informing policy decisions by using economic research and analysis.
• Reviewing and analysing economic data to support evidence-based decision making on complex economic policies.
• Planning and leading ad hoc economic analysis and research requests.
• Working collaboratively and effectively across teams and departments.

About you

• Must be an Australian citizen.
• At least five years of economic policy and economic modelling experience.
• At least undergraduate qualifications in economics or econometrics.
• Ability to translate modelling results into policy narratives and advice.
• Experience in statistical packages such as SAS, R, STATA or similar.
