As s Snr Electrical Engineer of Decarbonisation you will provide professional leadership and expert engineering and technical advice in the area of electrical engineering to help develop low-carbon technologies for Aurizon’s locos that use diesel fuel.
This includes not only installing the onboard requirements for rolling stock but also the interfaces along the entire supply chain, including for example the recharging infrastructure that would be required for batteries.
Organise and plan the technical aspects of highly complex engineering projects including the design and preparation of user requirement specifications, material and component specifications, safety in design requirements for new and altered works.
Develop and coordinate technical aspects and strategies for new technology and techniques applicable to engineering systems and networks.
Design, checking and auditing of complex engineering systems submitted by design team and or external providers.
Organise and prepare the associated documentation, user requirements, system requirements, installation procedures, verification and validation, testing and commissioning, asset handover, type approval, maintenance procedures for engineering systems.
Ensure that electrical engineering designs produced conform to business and industry best practice.
Assist in the training and development of engineers and designers.
Identify requirements for new processes and standards, and contribute to the production and implementation of new standards, specifications and work practices
About you:
Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent
Registered professional engineer under the Professional Engineer's Act of Queensland
High level of skill in the development of technical aspects of highly complex engineering systems and networks, and the application of new technology and techniques.
High level of skill in communication to effectively liaise with other sections, external providers, suppliers, regulatory authorities, users and trade staff in the introduction of new technologies and techniques.
High level of skill in planning and undertaking professional work without direct supervision and in exercising initiative in the application of professional practices and to take responsibility for project deliverables.
High level of interpersonal, written and communication, consultation and negotiation skills.
Extensive knowledge in developing and implementing standards and procedures for engineering systems and networks.
High level of skill in the design and checking of complex engineering systems and designs including a proven track record of resolving problems to improve overall performance.
