As the Senior Electrical Engineer – Wind in the Renewables Engineering team, you'll be at the forefront of this renewable energy revolution and be responsible for the provision of discipline-based asset management expertise to ensure business unit asset risks are identified and effectively managed.

This role will include compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations and the upkeep of asset plans to maximise asset performance of over its life cycle and be responsible for the Electrical Engineering support of Wind assets within the Renewable Engineering team. 

The role is a 6 (to 9 month) secondment based in either Melbourne or Adelaide with routine travel to operational sites expected.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Reviewing wind asset risks and implement effective risk management plans with control measures to mitigate risks.  This also includes implementation of target controls identified.

  • Ensuring compliance with AGL Asset Management Standards (aligned to ISO55000) and systems are proactively maintained, and relevant industry standards applied for wind and balance of plant assets.

  • Conducting asset related investigations including formal Root Cause Analysis investigations and acting as a point of reference and technical support for managing changes in assets.

  • Project managing identified scope of works including liaison with contractors, project coordination and project reporting, as well as new project development in operation and maintenance whole of life costs for new projects.

  • Maintaining effective working relationships both internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations and upkeep of asset plans to maximise asset performance.

  • Ensuring that all Health, Safety and Environment Systems and goals are communicated and adhered to while meeting AGL’s policies and standards for HSE management.

What you’ll bring:

  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering as well as CPEng or eligible to be chartered, or able to register for the National Engineering Register.

  • Technical experience with wind electrical generation assets is highly desirable.

  • Experience in asset management principals in particular ISO55001 Asset Management highly desirable.

  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills and prove track record in delivering reliability and efficiency improvements in wind assets.

  • Proven interpersonal skills with high quality written and verbal communication skills that can be used across all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
