Your role as Senior Energy Engineer will support our clients by providing innovative solutions that reduce our clients’ carbon emissions, drive cost savings, and accelerate energy performance.
  
Lead the change, from the frontline
  
As a valued member of our Energy Solutions Engineering Team, you’ll bring your high level of expertise in managing and delivery of emissions reduction projects and undertake energy focused engineering consultancy while being a technical subject matter expert across this area.  Based in Sydney and reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, you’ll build collaborative, productive relationships with co-workers and clients to understand and meet their energy efficiency needs.
  
With honesty, integrity and respect, you will:
  • Provide technical management of projects, budget management, internal and client reporting, regular client communication, client meetings and presentations, site visits and travel;
  • Lead client engagements on a variety of energy transition related subjects including emissions reduction planning, renewable energy and energy storage benefits, and energy efficiency opportunity identification;
  • Understand each sites' electrical infrastructure for renewable energy and energy storage projects;
  • Deliver projects to a high level of quality through peer review and to deadlines developed in consultation with your manager;
  • Project delivery may also involve management of internal or external resources, to enable successful project outcomes, and more effective product development;
  • Build the Shell Energy offering in regards to multi-asset behind the meter solutions, to help clients meet their energy and demand cost, and emissions goals;
  • Conduct peer reviews of colleagues’ work as required to maximise the accuracy of work delivered by the engineering team;
  • Providing technical support to our sales team to support the sales process; and
  • Build a working knowledge of best practice approaches to energy measurement and verification and continually update your knowledge in line with current best practice.
What you’ll bring
  
Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:
  • Experience in a similar role in the energy industry;
  • Experience in the technical and financial delivery of projects in a consulting environment;
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, science, or equivalent discipline - electrical engineering preferred;
  • Initiative with data collection, manipulation and management;
  • Battery implementation/ analytics experience preferred but not essential;
  • An understanding of electrical infrastructures; 
  • Experience in the delivery of Emissions Reduction Roadmaps or plans for the Manufacturing Sector or comparable experience;
  • An understanding of energy use and energy markets in Australia;
  • Excellent data analysis and report writing skills;
  • You’re an effective team player and communicator who nurtures positive relationships with clients and co-workers;
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills with initiative, and a desire to continually develop your knowledge and ability;
  • Respect technical innovation, embrace change and opportunity, and bring a passion for renewable energies to make the world a cleaner place.
