Rio Tinto are expanding operations in the Pilbara to epic proportions while introducing next generation technologies to deliver greater efficiency, lower production costs and improved health, safety and environmental performance.About the Role:WorkPac are currently seeking a Senior Engineer based in Perth to commence work as soon as possible. This position offers a Monday to Friday roster with adhoc site travel. Reporting to the Principal Renewals Development, this role involves leading the technical engineering for the design phases of a heavy haul track renewal program, including ballast cleaning, turnout, level crossing, bridge track and plain line asset renewals.Key Responsibilities will include:Assessing risk, priority and benefits of executing potential track renewal projects.Determination of treatment methods for track assets requiring renewal, via data analysis, field inspection, survey and geotechnical investigation.Working with consultants and internal stakeholders to produce design deliverables for track renewal projects, including top-of-rail, treatment extents, formation, drainage and civil enabling designs.Supporting the Senior Advisor Renewals to develop business cases for track renewal projects.Design and technical support during renewal execution phasesAnalysis of track renewal performance post-construction, driving continuous improvements in design, treatment selection and construction processes to improve future outcomes.Skills & Experience Required:Experience in the railway industry within a track design or track technical authority role is essential.Heavy haul rail experience is preferred but not essential.Experience managing consultants, design deliverables and dynamic changes to work priorityOn-site experience during track renewal or track construction is advantageous but not essential.C class drivers licenceAbout WorkPacWorkPac is Australia's largest privately owned workforce services business with over 1.3 million registered candidates.
