Who are we looking for?
The role
GHD currently has a great opportunity for an experienced Earthing and Bonding Engineer to join our Power team This role will involve all facets of earthing & bonding design from concept through to commissioning to achieve successful client outcomes with a key focus on project delivery.
Your responsibilities in the field of Earthing and Bonding will include,
- Transmission and distribution substation, and feeder earthing & bonding design.
- AC and DC traction systems and Bonding design
- Stray current mitigation and electrolysis assessment
- AC interference studies (LFI/EMF)
- EMC assessment and EMF studies
- Lightning protection design
- Site work including soil resistivity testing and current injection testing
- Authoring engineering reports and preparing design drawings of high technical
standards and accuracy.
- Preparation of proposals, quotations and estimates.
- Coordinate and review Earthing and Bonding projects to ensure delivery on-time, on budget and to quality agreed.
- Contribute to development of shared knowledge databases
About you
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering with recent experience in the field of earthing & bonding.
- Significant experience in the use of SESTech CDEGS software.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering earthing & bonding designs.
- Excellent project delivery skills with a clear understanding of QA systems.
- Demonstrated experience in authoring high quality engineering reports. Must have strong technical and general report writing skills.
- Demonstrated experience in the production of earthing & bonding design drawings and delivery packages.
- Experience in soil resistivity testing
- Experience in current injection testing desirable
- Understanding of local authority standards, Australian Standards, and international standards and guidelines.
- An ability to multi-task and prioritise competing priorities in a fast-paced environment working to established programmes.
- Proactive and responsive with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Professional registration is desirable.
